Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Yorktown, Police Say

A 43-year-old man was arrested for allegedly violating a protective order among other charges by texting and calling the victim numerous times.

Valentine Arvelo, of Tarrytown, was arrested around 5:50 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, after the victim went to Yorktown Police Headquarters to file a complaint, said the Yorktown Police.

According to police, Arvelo allegedly violating the order of protection by calling and texting the victims multiple times, causing fear and alarm, police said.

Arvelo voluntarily surrendered at the Yorktown Police Department and was charged with criminal contempt and harassment, police said.

He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Oct. 31.

A new order of protection was issued for the victim.
